So Tingles dropped off the face of the earth. No response to emails, nothing. Either the ship he was on blew up or I’ve been catfished. Yep, I believe it is the latter. I can’t explain it otherwise. I think he must have been completely lying to me. There is no other explanation.
I wish I had the opportunity to say the following to him:
Why did you bother with me if you were lying? You obviously knew I was being truthful and you took advantage of that. You occupied my time and prayed on my emotions just to amuse yourself. Unfortunately, you messed with someone who has a brain and quickly can see that you were lying. You are a jerk!

But I have to be honest here. In the past, I’ve secretly fantasized about meeting someone on an AJ or other singles trip, and having a cruise romance. And it’s happened for me on both AJ trips. This time – to be frank – all I want to do is collapse in on a chair, partially shaded to protect my pale skin, with a book and music in hand, and let the friendships fall where they may. Of course, I’m not join to lie. It’s wonderful to meet someone, but for now, I just need a few days in the sun to rejuvenate and come back to my life energized, focused, and ready for the next chapter.

Michael and Mike were fabulous and gentlemen, possessing true social grace, getting me a chair, accompanying me on line to get drinks, and making me feel very welcome in a room full of strangers. They were terrific and are already Facebook friends! What I learned from them is that gay or straight, people are people, especially when you’re single.
